The Book Club Play at Theatre in the Round in Minneapolis
The Stages of MN had very high praise saying "Theatre in the Round Players (TRP) is having one hell of a season, perhaps their best since I’ve been a regular attendee. The Book Club Play is definitely in the conversation for the best production I’ve seen by the company." http://bit.ly/3WIgCwz.
Cherry and Spoon urges you to "Grab a glass of wine, or TRP's non-alcoholic specialty cocktail The Bookmark, and join this Book Club meeting play for some funny, uncomfortable, relatable discussions about books, art, and humanity. https://bit.ly/cs_bookclub.
To round things out Artfully Engaging interviews one of the actors from the show, Eni Ogundipe, who tells her among other things ""My favorite line from The Book Club Play is: 'Book club is like Lord of the Flies with wine and dip.'" Read the full conversation here; https://bit.ly/Eni_Interview.

Maybe At Stages Theatre Company

Two of our Bloggers Chimed in with thoughts on Maybe At Stages Theatre Company running through 2/12/22
The Stages of MN liked what the production had to say to its audience "It’s message is to encourage its audience to always see the possibilities, to think of what they want, then figure out how to achieve it. That’s not just good advice for the young people in the theater but for everyone." https://bit.ly/Maybeatstages
While Lettered in Theatre spoke with one of the young stars Zola Jo Renfroe who plays Orville about the show "I first read Maybe one day randomly at my friends house, I loved the story and quickly fell in love with Orville". Read her full write up here https://bit.ly/LIT_MAYBE

TCTB Review: "the bull-jean stories" at Pillsbury House Theatre

Our Blogger Cherry and Spoon Took in the one Woman show the bull-jean stories at Pillsbury House Theatre. The show plays through February 5th. They recommend the show stating "the bull-jean stories is a beautifully lyrical look at love and resilience through the lens of a Southern Black lesbian woman in the early 20th century, with an impressive performance by #TCTheater favorite Aimee K. Bryant." https://bit.ly/cs_bulljean

Two of our Bloggers had posts on the one woman show LORNA LANDVIK presents "PAGES AND STAGES" which runs Fridays and Saturdays at 7:00 PM through 1/28/23 at @Bryant Lake Bowl Theater in Uptown.
Cherry and Spoon says it was just what the Dr. ordered "An evening with Lorna Landvik feels like hanging out with friends or family, if your friends or family were really funny and talented storytellers/entertainers/comedians. A fun, casual evening of togetherness, laughter, singing, and general silliness..." https://bit.ly/cs_lorna23

TCTB Review Roundup: THE GIRL ON THE TRAIN at Lyric Arts

Four of our bloggers couldn't resist the draw of a contemporary thriller Lyric Arts in Anoka, checkout out what they thought of The Girl on the Train which runs through February 5th.

The Stages of MN wants to assure you "the staging is so inventive and the performances so good that I feel sure those familiar with the plot and resolution with still have a thoroughly entertaining night at the Theater." http://bit.ly/3iF3biZ
While our newest Blogger One Fan Show felt the show was flawed he did find some merit in the production "The entire production team must also be commended for obviously bringing a wealth of ideas to this new staging and following through on them." bit.ly/3CSHNxw
Play off the Page has a much better time with the production "The creative team at Lyric Arts has somehow combined the feeling of reading a book and getting into the characters’ heads with the dynamic elements of film to the intimacy of a live performance. This is a must-see!" http://bit.ly/3Xxc6lt
Finally Cherry and Spoon weighs in and the tally comes up Fresh cherries "A great cast, a suspenseful story (especially if you've never read the book or have forgotten the ending, like I had), and a tight interplay between recorded scenes and live performances make for an entertaining night (or afternoon) at the theater."
