It's Monday, so clearly it's time to plan your weekend theatergoing. In addition to all the new shows opening, here's a few to catch before they close. We've got pirates, white whales, spirtualism, dementia AND labor disputes. DANG.

"The Kalevala" by nimbus theatre at The Crane Theater

The Kalevala is a collection of traditional Finnish folktales, and considered "one of the most significant works of Finnish literature." Even though I'd never even heard of it, much less knew any of its content or themes, it felt familiar. All of these ancient tales share common archetypes and themes across cultures.  - Cherry and Spoon

The funding has ended and they did meet their goal - so exciting! We are looking forward to coming shows at The Crane.
