Cherry and Spoon: "Theatre Elision is FINALLY doing FIRST LADY SUITE, one of the many shows that was supposed to open in March of 2020. Elision fills a unique niche of rarely done one-act musicals with most or all female cast and creative team. The first ladies singing?! I'm in! https://www.elisionproductions.com/first-lady-suite"

The Book Club Play at Theatre in the Round in Minneapolis is "funny, uncomfortable, relatable"

Several of our Bloggers got out to see The Book Club [Play] at Theatre in the Round which runs through February 19th.
mage of text that says 'BY KAREN ZACARÍAS THE BOOK CLUB [PLAY]'
The Book Club Play at Theatre in the Round in Minneapolis
The Stages of MN had very high praise saying "Theatre in the Round Players (TRP) is having one hell of a season, perhaps their best since I’ve been a regular attendee. The Book Club Play is definitely in the conversation for the best production I’ve seen by the company." http://bit.ly/3WIgCwz.
Cherry and Spoon urges you to "Grab a glass of wine, or TRP's non-alcoholic specialty cocktail The Bookmark, and join this Book Club meeting play for some funny, uncomfortable, relatable discussions about books, art, and humanity. https://bit.ly/cs_bookclub.
To round things out Artfully Engaging interviews one of the actors from the show, Eni Ogundipe, who tells her among other things ""My favorite line from The Book Club Play is: 'Book club is like Lord of the Flies with wine and dip.'" Read the full conversation here; https://bit.ly/Eni_Interview.

Head to Theatre in the Round - the oldest theater in Minneapolis, now in their 68th season - for the hilarious British one-act farce BLACK COMEDY.

The Stages of MNhttp://bit.ly/2tPwCVY
"Black Comedy by Peter Shaffer is the sort of play Theatre in the Round Players (TRP) does best. It’s fun, fast paced and the action takes place in one setting"
Cherry and Spoonhttp://bit.ly/cs_blackcomedy
"The entire cast is fantastic in what is a classic British '60s farce of a play, with detailed and clever design to make this comedy in the dark really shine."

Rhinoceros and Our House - Review Roundup

LAST CHANCE! Here are a couple more shows closing this weekend, brought to you by Cherry and Spoon:
Theatre in the Round: RHINOCEROS
"RHINOCEROS reminds us to be wary of large lumbering beasts running through our town and destroying everything we've worked so hard to build. Theatre in the Round's production makes great use of their in-the-round space and a wonderfully committed cast to entertain while also disturbing."
http://bit.ly/cs_rhino18
Wonderlust Productions at the Minnesota State Capitol: OUR HOUSE: THE CAPITOL PLAY PROJECT
(Note: the three remaining shows are sold out, but if you arrive early you can put your name on the waitlist beginning 30 minutes prior to showtime.)
"OUR HOUSE is unabashedly sincere and optimistic about the people who work in government, but it's also harshly realistic about the inefficiencies and corruption within the system. It should be required viewing for every citizen."
